How you can help

The services for women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse is funded in various ways, the ‘core’ services for staffing and upkeep of the accommodation comes from government funded grants and from rents charged to residents. Our funding is always subject to change and we had huge cuts from April 2011 leading to staff reductions and cutbacks throughout our organisation. The services we provide for families include several interventions such as counselling, therapy groups, support planning, crèche provision, after school club and activities along with outings and seasonal events and it is clearly acknowledged that the successful prevention and early intervention work is the way forward to ensure that vulnerable children are given the best start in life. Unfortunately we have not been successful in securing continuation of the funding that has enabled this valuable work to take place and unless we are able to fund this work it will cease from April 2012

 There are many ways that individuals and organisations can help ease the financial pressure our charity currently faces, support includes donations, which could be financial - see links below, time, expertise, new items, food, toiletries. A great help would be sponsorship of part of the fundraising Ball, or prizes for raffle or auction at the next Ball on 14th September 2012; friends and colleagues could make up a table of 10 and attend the Ball for a great night out whilst supporting the charity.
