Parkland's Centre

Parklands Centre offers support and information for female victims/survivors of abusive relationships.
At the Centre we provide the following services free of charge:

•   A telephone help line
•  Formal and informal face to face support
•  Self help and support groups
• Advice and information surgeries
• One to one counselling with a trained volunteer
•  Life skills and personal development workshops and training courses

We can give you information about refuges, assistance with finding refuge space, and other housing options.  We can also help you access legal advice. If you feel you would benefit from some help and advice, or would like to volunteer, please call us on the number below.

9:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm

The Parklands Women's Centre is staffed by Basildon Women's Aid Outreach team, who are supported by a small band of volunteers. All our volunteers have readily given up their time to undertake training with us and are a real asset.

At the present time we support in the region of 40 to 60 women a week in person or by phone, and maintain a commitment to continue to improve and extend our service.

The Parklands Women's Centre has been made possible due to the generosity of Basildon District Council, who provided the accommodation, Ford motor company, who refurbished and redecorated the centre and Ikea, Lakeside who donated a considerable amount of office and lounge furniture. We are also indebted to the National Lottery Charities Board for their initial support.

Training for External Agencies

We are able to offer awareness raising training for other agencies who may come into contact with Domestic Abuse.  We can supply speakers for groups and clubs.

Volunteer Training Programme

We also have a training programme for volunteers who wish to join our team.
